What is PIP?

Perlis Inland Port (PIP), supported by the Northern Corridor Implementation Authority and the State of Perlis, is developing a state-of-the-art integrated inland port in Chuping Valley near Padang Besar. PIP will offer railway links with Penang Port, Port Klang and other regional destinations including Thailand, Singapore, Laos and China. Simply put, PIP will be the logistics hotspot in Northern Malaysia.

Our Full Phase Layout Plan

PIP consists of Rail Park & Logistics Park:

The Rail Park will have a container yard operation to handle up to 1mil TEU by Phase 3. It will also have a full-fledged maintenance repair & overhaul workshop for rolling stock and other value added services.

Logistics Park will include up to 2mil sqf of Warehousing space, a Finance & Trade Support Centre, Refueling station & R&R facilities for truck drivers coming from Thailand & Malaysia in addition to a repair & maintenance workshop for logistics park facilities.

PIP Offering

Bonded Road Access

A dedicated road linking Malaysia and Thailand, enhancing the efficiency of cargo transport while alleviating current road congestion.

Rail Connectivity

Rail transport provides a cost-effective method for moving large volumes of goods across Malaysia and within the region. It reduces green house gas emissions by 82% as compared to road transport.

Sustainability Practice

PIP is committed to sustainable practices, aiming to reduce carbon emissions and preserve resources. PIP will utilise the roof infrastructure of the logistic park to generate solar energy and for rainwater harvesting. The use of rail as opposed to road will result in significant reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and reduction in fatalities and accidents on the highway network.

Warehouse Facilities

Comprehensive warehouse facilities support efficient logistics operations and storage needs. PIP will encourage the development of smart warehouses and other value added services i.e Halal Warehouse and Food Pack Warehouse with refrigerated warehouse with a high quality cold chain infrastructure.
