Asia Pacific Rail 2025 @BITEC Bangkok, Thailand
Malaysia Rail Industry Corporation (MARIC) extended an exclusive invitation to Mutiara Perlis to be part of the prestigious Asia Pacific Rail 2025, held on 28-29 May 2025 at BITEC, Bangkok, Thailand. As one of the region’s leading railway industry gatherings, the event provided a dynamic platform for key players—spanning government agencies, operators, OEMs, and technology providers—to exchange knowledge, explore transformative advancements, and foster international collaboration.
Asia Pacific Rail 2025 brought together over 4,000 attendees, fostering discussions on railway transformation, digitalisation, asset management, rolling stock, and infrastructure development. MARIC President, YBhg Datuk Dr. Mohd Yusoff Sulaiman, was among the distinguished speakers, reinforcing Malaysia’s presence in regional rail industry.
On second day of the event, a Fireside Session moderated by Mr. Jirawat Jungwat, Founder of Thailand Infrastructure, featured Mr. Irwan Zamanshary, General Manager Logistics of Mutiara Perlis, discussing “Technology Advancements & Innovations in Cargo & Container Handling.” This session explored cutting-edge solutions for streamlining cargo management and enhancing efficiency across rail logistics operations, offering valuable insights for optimizing logistics infrastructure.
The event played a crucial role in advancing Perlis Inland Port (PIP) project, which aims to position Malaysia as a key freight rail logistics hub in Southeast Asia. By engaging with international stakeholders, PIP strengthened its strategic alignment with regional freight rail networks, particularly those connecting Malaysia, Thailand, Lao and China. The discussions on freight rail efficiency, digital rail solutions and infrastructure development provided valuable knowledge for ensuring seamless cargo movement across borders.
With Phase 1 of PIP expected to handle up to 300,000 TEUs annually and set to launch this year, the insights gained from Asia Pacific Rail 2025 will support its integration into Pan-Asian railway corridors, enhancing Malaysia’s trade connectivity and economic growth.
Asia Pacific Rail 2025 has successfully facilitated networking opportunities, knowledge-sharing, and cross-border collaborations, strengthening Malaysia’s rail industry presence on the global stage.
